[edit] About SteamLab

SteamLab is a project mainly written with AutoHotKey designed as a helper application for the Windows game management application Steam by Valve Software.

SteamLab is built to look almost exactly like Steam itself, to make it seem like you're using one fluid program. To that end, SteamLab contains a Steam-like tray menu, a dock that sits right below the main Steam window, and it adds several custom tabs to the Steam interface which seamlessly integrate the program's functions within Steam.

SteamLab is free and open source. Feel free to join in--create an account here, and on the Trac site. You will then be able to make revisions to the source on SVN using your Trac account.

Let me know what ideas you may have. Feel free to discuss SteamLab on the Discussion tab above. Thank you for your interest!

[edit] Features

SteamLab does a lot of neat things:

  • Manages CD keys and other data about non-Steam games
  • Auto-updates non-Steam games, Source mods, and other titles
  • Manages and schedules backups of Steam files, game saves and profiles, and much more
  • Features universal hotkeys that control things like volume, take custom screenshots, and more
  • Auto-download, schedule, and launch many great game tools--even add your own!
  • Lock your Steam client from those who would get you banned--but still receive the latest Steam updates!
  • Much, much more

At the time of this writing, SteamLab is developed and managed solely by me, and is hosted on my and my company's equipment.

I welcome any help that anyone with decent AHK experience, PHP or web development experience, or graphic experience (particularly with icon or UI design experience). I welcome anyone's help and suggestions, however.
